Responsible Gambling

We cover the chaos for laughs — but the money is real. DuelChaos is entertainment, not financial advice. If the fun stops, here's how to spot the warning signs, set hard limits, and get free, confidential help.

The straight talk

Gambling should be entertainment, never a way to make money. The house keeps an edge by design, the odds always favour the operator over time, and no streamer, costume, or "0% house-edge window" changes that maths. If you bet, bet only what you can comfortably afford to lose — and treat any winnings as a bonus, not a plan.

DuelChaos documents the viral side of Duel.com's live blackjack table. We are an independent fan site, not a casino, not a financial adviser, and not regulated to give betting or money advice. The links below go to free, confidential UK support services run by recognised charities.

If you need to talk to someone right now: the National Gambling Helpline is free on 0808 8020 133, open 24 hours a day, run by GamCare.

Know the signs

Signs gambling has stopped being fun

Problem gambling rarely announces itself. It creeps in. If a few of these feel familiar — for you or someone close to you — it's worth pausing and reaching out. None of this is a diagnosis; it's a prompt to check in.

  • Spending more money or time gambling than you intended, or than you can afford.
  • Chasing losses — betting more to win back what you've already lost.
  • Gambling to escape stress, boredom, or low mood rather than for fun.
  • Borrowing money, selling things, or skipping bills to keep gambling.
  • Lying to family or friends about how much you gamble.
  • Feeling restless, irritable, or anxious when you try to cut down or stop.
  • Relationships, work, or sleep suffering because of gambling.

For a confidential self-check and support, BeGambleAware hosts free tools and signposting, and the National Gambling Support Network lists local services across Great Britain.

Take control

Set limits — or lock yourself out

You don't have to wait until things feel out of hand. Two practical tools help most people stay in control:

Deposit, loss & time limits

Most licensed casinos let you set daily, weekly, or monthly caps on deposits and losses, plus reminders or session time-outs. Set them before you play, while you're thinking clearly — not mid-session. A limit you can't easily raise in the heat of the moment is the one that actually works. Reality-check pop-ups that show how long you've been playing are worth switching on, too.

Self-exclusion with GAMSTOP

If you want a harder stop, GAMSTOP is the UK's free national self-exclusion scheme. You register once and it blocks you from every gambling site and app licensed by the UK Gambling Commission. You choose a period of 6 months, 1 year, or 5 years; sign-up takes a few minutes and applies across licensed operators within 24 hours, per GAMSTOP. Note that offshore sites outside UK regulation may not be covered — which is exactly why blocking software and bank gambling blocks are useful backups.
